Clearly, I don't think averagely so hear me out.
Putting people down and arguing is a HUGE deal. We are only teenagers, okay, we're supposed to argue, but not like the kids do these days. NOT to the point where words make someone want to end their lives. Life's NOT supposed to be that way, unfortunately it is. Kids are SO, SO rude these days, with the words they use, and the things they do. We all have to grow up together, so we should all just get over ourselves and get along. We are all a part of the SAME generation, we will potentially be working at the same places when we get out of high school, so what's the point in arguing & holding grudges when we'll have to see each other down the road? No matter what you do, you will always, always, always run into someone you "didn't like" when you were in high school, whether it be at Wal-Mart or McDonalds. We're all going to have to see everyone again, people we "don't like" just don't dissapear, so get over it. Just get along, is it HONESTLY all that hard?
I am so sick and tired of everyone being SO fake lately. I want to know why everyone thinks they HAVE to be as cool as everything materialistic they see. Whether on t.v. or on the cover of a magazine, or pictures on the internet, it's ridiculous. When people talk about these things taking over everyone's lives, it's true. People see people partying on TV, so how do they spend their Friday nights? They go out, have unprotected sex, they get drunk, and they smoke pot. WAY COOL, right?! UM, NO. Here's how I see it; be who YOU want to be. Be the person you would want you grandparents to know, not these little nasty girls we are used to seeing running around on television with their boobs & butts hanging out. Would your Grandma or Grandfather really want to see that? Probably not. I have a pretty valid point there, aye? I guess the only thing I really wish was that people would stop worrying about what someone's face looks like, about the amount of money you have in your pocket, about the house you live in. IT'S NOT A BIG DEAL. I know this is too much to ask, because clearly none of this is going to happen, but I would literally die a little inside if it actually did. Yeah, it's 2011, everyone has all these fancy "HD" televisions and whatnot, but honestly, stop letting it influence your life SO much, pick up a frickin' book and read instead of letting your brain rot away.
Society is ugly. Everyone now-a-days thinks they have to weigh under 100 pounds to be beautiful, gorgeous, pretty, etc. This one is about all those girls and boys that go home and don't eat a thing, because "they are fat." It's about the girls and boys that eat something, and then they go into the bathroom and puke it up, because "they are fat." It's about the boys and girls that think they have to spend every spare second of their time working out or dieting, because they just want to fit in, they just want to beautiful, they just want to "be skinny." What is skinny? Honestly. It's just an overrated, unnecessary word. What is fat? Same thing as skinny. An overrated, unnecessary word. Just as I was saying before, this is what television, magazines, and the internet has done to us. Everyone wants to be that thin, great looking model they see walking down the runway on their TV screen. Everyone wants to be that pretty face they see on the cover of their favorite magazine. Everyone wants to be that girl all the boys look at on the internet. Well, you know what? You can not airbrush personality, and that is EXACTLY what beauty is, what beauty comes from... Personality. If you've got a glowing, radiant, personality, you are one of the most beautiful people on this planet. If you have a goofy, outgoing personality, you are one of the most beautiful people on this planet. If you have a shy personality, and like to keep to yourself, you are one of the most beautiful people on this planet. See where I'm going with this? No matter what personality you have, you are a beautiful person. Unless you are the majority. The majority that judges. The majority that uses those hurtful words to define someone. Forget about everyone in that majority, they don't matter. Beauty is NOT defined by the number on the tag of your jeans. Beauty is not the number of pieces of pizza you eat. Beauty is not what your face looks like. Beauty is not the number on that scale. Beauty is having that personality, where you love everyone and everything, because of what's on the inside. We all need to stop judging people by aesthetics, because in reality, everyone is beautiful. It's the majority, and the media, and society that is ugly.
You've all seen those commercials on television about the thin line and bullying right? Well, what they say on those commercials is true. It only takes one hurtful word to make someone want to end their lives, so we all need to watch what we say to people. Those sayings about "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all," and "treat others the way you wanted to be treated." They are so true. The other day I was on a website where you can ask people questions, generally about whatever, I suppose, and I saw what one person said to another in their response. They told the person who asked the question to go kill themselves. This really set me off. Since when is it even SLIGHTLY okay for one human being to tell another living, breathing human being to go kill themselves? I think that was about the most awful thing anyone could say. I sat and wondered about what the person who said that would've done if they found out that the person got off the computer and went and actually ended their life, because they told them too. As I said before, everyone is so rude these days, I do not even slightly understand it. My brain can't comprehend it. I mean, yes, everyone has those days where we wake up in a crabby mood, but I know for a fact that just because I woke up on the wrong side of the bed, I wouldn't ever, ever, ever be as cruel and heartless as the person I was talking about up there. Kids take everything to heart these days, whether they say they "don't care" or not, they do. I'm a kid, and I listen to what everyone says to me. I take into consideration everything I've ever been told, and I think about everything. Words actually do hurt people's feelings, enough to the point where one human being is gone from this planet, because someone was cold-hearted and just plain mean, so yes, we all do need to think about what we say before it comes out of our mouth, it could potentially save a life.
I truly hope someone took 20 minutes out of their day to read my ranting, because for once, it wasn't pointless. It took some thought and some time to write this, and I'm so serious about all of the things I just talked about. I hope at least one person out there agrees with me, and I hope I made an impact on at least one person, and made them think. I know I'm only a kid, but I would honestly give or do anything just to get my point across, because I think a world without these problems, would be a world worth fighting for.
